Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) on Wednesday confirmed a Test match against Australia in December this year. The one-off Test match will take place any day between December 9 to 11 in Perth, as per ESPN Cricinfo.

According to the reports, the cricketing boards of both the countries are currently in the final stages of hosting the match. In the next few days, they will also come up with the final dates of the match in Australia.

As per the ICC’s Future Tours Programme, Australia were slated to host Afghanistan in November this year. Afghanistan was supposed to fly Australia immediately after the conclusion of the T20 World Cup.

But owing to the coronavirus pandemic, the entire fixture of all the test playing nations were halted.

This will be the fifth Test match between both the countries after Afghanistan gained full-member status back in 2017. This one off-Test will also not be a part of the ICC World Test championship as the tournament does not include Zimbabwe, Ireland and Afghanistan.
