On Wednesday, December 21, 2022, Ajinkya Rahane scored a double hundred for Mumbai in their Ranji Trophy 2022-23 match against Hyderabad at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy in BKC. The match took place in India.
On the first day of the match, Mumbai’s score was 176 and they had lost two wickets after 32.2 overs when Rahane came to play. After that, he batted alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored 162 runs off 195 balls with 27 fours and one six. Together, the two of them contributed 206 runs to the third wicket stand.
On the first day, Rahane had already hit his hundred, and on the second day, he picked on right where he had left off. Following Jaiswal’s dismissal by Shashank M, Rahane and Sarfaraz Khan put up a 196-run partnership for the fourth wicket to put Mumbai in a dominant position.
After batting for 261 balls, Rahane amassed 204 runs, including three sixes and 26 fours for a strike rate of 78.16 while he was at the crease. His runs came off of a total of 261 deliveries. In the 111th over of Mumbai’s innings, Tanay Thyagarajan was successful in getting rid of the big fish.
The score was 578 for four wickets lost in 110.2 overs when Rahane was caught batting for Mumbai, and Mumbai was in a commanding position as a result of Rahane’s innings.
In the meantime, Rahane is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to once again stake his claim on a spot in the Indian Test team. After India’s trip to South Africa earlier this year, the right-hander was replaced in the Test lineup and never played for India again.
