Australia women team’s wicket-keeper Alyssa Healy on Sunday surpassed the rare record set by the former Indian skipper MS Dhoni.

The 30-year-old didn’t realize what record she broke until the commentator Mel Jones poked her about her new accolade. It was during the 15th over of New Zealand’s innings when Georgia Wareham bowled a cutter to Lauren Down which she edged to Healy.

By doing so, Healy registered her 92nd wicket-keeping dismissals, also surpassing the former Indian skipper MS Dhoni.

MS Dhoni took 97 innings to inflict 91 dismissals in T20I format but Alyssa bettered his record with 92 dismissals in 99 innings.

“I had no idea about it, I wondered why Mel Jones was asking me about MS Dhoni, I thought it was a very strange discussion we were about to have,” she said.

“It’s obviously a very nice individual accolade but it reflects better on our bowling attack than myself” Alyssa praised the bowling.

In the second match of the T20I series, Healy stumped Amy Satterthwaite and also registered her 50th stumping in the shortest format.

Australia women have already won the first two T20I matches against the White Ferns and lead the five-match series by 2-0. They will next face them on September 30 in the Allan Border Field i.e., Wednesday.
