AS-W vs BH-W: The Challenger match in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) 2022 will have Adelaide Strikers take on Brisbane Heat on Thursday at Karen Rolton Oval ground in Adelaide.

Adelaide Strikers finished the league stage at the number two spot and are coming into this encounter after beating Sydney Thunders by 26 runs. Confidence would be high and they would be looking to seal their spot for the finals.

The Strikers, batting first, managed to score 144 runs in 20 overs. Wolvaardt starred with the bat as she played an outstanding knock of 75 runs in 56 balls, including 12 fours.

In reply, the Strikers bundled out the Thunders for just 118 runs, thanks to a sensational bowling display from Megan Schutt. The Aussie fast bowler ran through Sydney Thunders’ batting unit as she picked 6 wickets for just 19 runs in 3.3 overs. Heading into the next match, Schutt would be oozing with confidence and this is a big positive for the team.

On the other hand, Brisbane Heat is coming off a 44-run win over Hobart Hurricanes in the Eliminator clash. In a do-or-die game for the Brisbane Heat, D Wyatt stepped up with the bat as she scored a vital half-century in 37 balls.

However, the match-defining knock came from the bat of Laura Harris, who scored 44 runs in just 14 deliveries. Thanks to those contributions, Brisbane Heat managed to score 179 runs at the end of the first innings.

In reply, Hobart Hurricanes were restricted to only 135 runs on the board in the second innings. Skipper Jess Jonassen led from the front as he picked four wickets for 23 runs in 4 overs.

The Hurricanes also are in fine form and one can expect a cracker of a contest on Thursday.
