Cricket Australia (CA) on Monday confirmed hosting the Indian cricket team for the much-awaited series at the end of this year.

And as per the reports, the Indian team be wither be welcomed at Adelaide or Brisbane than the usual venue of Perth for the series. The Western Australian government didn’t give any relief on the safety protocols to the CA that forced them to switch the venues.

ESPN CricInfo reported that the Adelaide Oval has already started the preparation for the back-to-back Test matches, also consisting of a Day-Night match. The iconic Boxing Day test will also not take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) due to the spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in the region.

“We didn’t think it was acceptable to have the team return from a high-risk overseas location and then take part in normal training activities outside of quarantine, before flying out to another state to play games.” Mark McGowan, the Premier of the WA state government was quoted as saying by the report.

“There were just too many risks in the model put forward by Cricket Australia. We need to remain vigilant and do the right thing by all Western Australians and not take unnecessary chances,” he added.

India’s series of Australia is likely, to begin with, the T20I series followed by the four-match Test series in December-January. The Board will come out with a new schedule of the tour by the end of this week with complete and revised dates.
