BAN-L vs NZ-L: The 7th match of the Road Safety World Series 2022 sees Bangladesh Legends take on New Zealand Legends on Thursday at Green Park in Kanpur. Both the teams haven’t made an ideal start to the tournament, having lost their first match.
New Zealand played their first match against South Africa Legends. Against a solid bowling unit, New Zealand could only manage 98 runs in the first innings. Brownlie played a handy knock of 48 runs in 48 balls, however, there wasn’t any support provided by the other batters.
All the other batters got back to the digit with single-digit scores against their name. Heading into the next match, New Zealand would look to bat well.
South Africa chased down the total in just 13.3 overs. The bowlers weren’t too great but you could argue that there weren’t enough runs on the board.
On the other hand, Bangladesh suffered a 6-wicket defeat over West Indies. They too showcased a miserable performance with the bat, bundling out for just 98 runs on the board. D Ghosh top-scored with an unbeaten 22 off 27 balls. The top order comprising Sadat (3), Nazimuddin (0) and Imran (6) all failed to deliver.
For them to win the match, Bangladesh ought to make a good start with the bat. West Indies, in reply, chased down the score in 15.2 overs. Bangladesh picked 4 wickets but it was too little a total to challenge the opposition.
Ahead of the next game, the likes of Abdur Razzak, Shahadat Hossain and Sharif will be the biggest bets with the ball. The onus for picking the wickets will be on them.
