BAN vs WI 2022: Bangladesh wicket-keeper batter Mushfiqur Rahim will miss the next West Indies tour. Mushfiqur Rahim has been granted permission to forgo the West Indies tour after requesting permission to do Hajj this year. Before the Sri Lanka series, Rahim told the board.

Mushfiqur is expected to go to Saudi Arabia on June 22 for the Hajj, which will take place between July 7 and 12.

“He informed us before the Sri Lanka series that he wants to perform Hajj this year,” Jalal Yunus, BCB’s cricket operations chairman said.

“When he got confirmation, he gave us a letter that he wanted to leave. We have granted him the time. We initially thought that he might be available for part of the tour but he is off for the whole tour.”

Bangladesh will be dealt a major setback, especially in the Test format, as four crucial players – Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, and Nayeem Hasan – will be unavailable due to injuries.

Due to a finger injury, Nayeem Hasan, who was instrumental in the first Test against Sri Lanka, has been ruled out of the current Sri Lanka series and the future West Indies series.

Bangladesh is set to depart Dhaka on June 6 for a tour that will include two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is.

The first Test match between the West Indies and Bangladesh will be on June 16 in North Sound, Antigua. From June 24-28, the second Test match will be held at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia.

The first two Twenty20 Internationals will be played in Dominica on July 2 and 3, with the third in Guyana on July 7. On July 10, 13, and 16, Guyana will host three one-day internationals.

The World Test Championship only includes Test matches, while the ODIs are not included in the Super League.
