Perth Scorchers franchise on Thursday signed the England batsman Liam Livingstone for the 10th edition of the Big Bash League.

The 27-year-old will play for the Scorchers for the second consecutive season after his contract extension until the end of 2020-21 season.

Livingstone scored 425 runs last season at an average of 30.36 and an impressive strike rate of 142.62 for the Scorchers. He paired up really well with Josh Inglis during the entire tournament, putting up 100-run partnership thrice.

“I loved my time with Perth last season, I can’t wait to get back out there and get that orange playing shirt back on,” Livingstone said.

“I enjoyed opening the batting last year and formed a great partnership with ‘Ingo’, hopefully we can pick up where we left off and continue to entertain the Perth supporters,”
he added.

Perth Scorchers had a forgetful last season and this time around, the head coach Adam Voges would hope the side performs well. He spoke about the acquisition of the Livingstone as he said,

“It’s terrific that Liam has agreed to join us again for BBL|10, he made a great impression last season finishing as one of the competition’s leading run-scorers.

“He fitted in very well with our group and along with his handy leg spin and energetic fielding, he brings a wealth of talent to the team.” he added.
