Sydney Sixers inked a deal with the West Indies all rounder Carlos Braithwaite ahead of the upcoming edition of the BBL. Braithwaite will now join the defending champions, the same team he played for during the 2017-18 season of the tournament.
Adding Braithwaite in the side would foster the middle order bowling alongside Tom Curran and Danny Christian. He is also expected to strengthen the bowling lineup comprising of Moises Henriques and Sean Abbott for yet another title-winning run in the tournament.
“I have very fond memories of Sydney,” Brathwaite said.
“I have good memories of playing at the SCG in my second Test match and even better memories of playing BBL for Sixers. I remember great times dancing at the games and the times in the dressing rooms with our team,” he added.
The 32-year-old has so far amassed 1614 runs and 154 wickets in T20s and also played for Sixers’ arch-rival Sydney Thunder.
Most of the BBL teams have abided the new rule by adding at least three all overseas players on the side ahead of the BBL 10.
