Overall, there are 12 platinum players in the BBL 12 draft. Its a mix of previously declared participants and a sizable number that was confirmed on Monday
The full list of platinum players includes Faf du Plessis, Roy, Liam Livingstone, Sam Billings, Kieron Pollard, Russell, David Willey, Shadab, Dwayne Bravo, Rashid Khan, Chris Jordan, and Boult. Each player will receive AU$340,000 (roughly US $233,853) regardless of how many games they are available for.
Only Willey and Shadab of the platinum names have not yet participated in the ILT20 of the UAE or the South Africa league. Although specifics are still being established. Those going to the new tournaments will probably be available for the BBL until late December.
Boult is one of the most important names from the most recent list of confirmed names. He had recently terminated his contract as the major player for New Zealand. In the first round of the drought, where only platinum players are available he might have a chance. He has a great ability to take wickets with the new ball and at the death, as well as his left-arm angle. Even though a club is not required to pick one it will probably make him sought-after.
Rashid is one player whose retention is all but guaranteed. Strikers are anticipated to use their option to keep him should another team try to sign him. Stars may decide to retain Russell given his previous performance.
There are a total of 26 players who are eligible for retention. It includes Mujeeb ur Rahman (Brisbane Heat), Alex Hales, and James Vince (Sixers). They are all likely to fall into the gold category. Which band to join is a choice for each player.
As an overseas player presently, Daniel Worrall, who currently represents Surrey in county cricket, has put himself forward for the draft.
