Former Indian skipper, Ajinkya Rahane is not likely to be part of the BCCI central contract list. As per a report by Inside Sport, the Board of Control for Cricket in India is set to exclude the likes of Ajinkya Rahane, Ishant Sharma, and Wriddhiman Saha from the new list.

In addition to that, India’s new batting sensation, Suryakumar Yadav is all set to get a promotion along with Shubman Gill. Besides, Hardik Pandya, who is touted as the future captain in the T20 international, is all set to move from group C to Group B.

“Surya was in Group C but his performance in the last year warrants a promotion to Group B at least, if not A. He is currently world No. 1 in T20I ICC rankings and is a serious contender in ODI team also,” a senior official, who is privy to the developments told PTI on conditions of anonymity.

Gill, on the other hand, is also likely to get a promotion from Group C to Group B. After notching his maiden double-hundred against Bangladesh in the third ODI, Ishan Kishan could expect his name to feature in the list as well.

Here’s how the BCCI Central Contract could look like
