The BCCI on Thursday commended the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) and the ICC for the preparation of the 13th edition of the IPL.
The ECB and ICC have played an integral role that the 13th edition of the IPL has been made possible this year. The franchises have been practicing at the ICC Academy with all the facilities present there for their ease. In fact, CSK skipper MS Dhoni went on praise the arrangement at the ICC Academy after the win against the Mumbai Indians in the tournament opener.
“It is an amazing job done by the IPL, especially ones behind the scenes. To make it happen there are a hundred different things; as cricketers we easily criticize stuff. To have the practice facilities like these at the ICC academy were fantastic. Unless you get practice facilities you won’t play well in a tournament like this” Dhoni said during the post-match presentation.
One of the BCCI officials spoke to the ANI and acknowledged the hard work of the ICC and the ECB behind the world-class arrangement for the IPL.
“The ICC Academy has deservedly come in for a lot of praise from the teams and that is wonderful to see. The ICC has done a tremendous job with its academy,” the official stated.
The official also highlighted the role of the BCCI chairman Jay Shah for his role of strengthening the relations of the BCCI and the ICC.
“Over the past few months we have seen ICC members acknowledge the role of Jay in correcting the situation,” the official concluded.
