The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday announced signing a three-season deal with Cred for the Indian Premier League.

Cred is an online based credit card bill payment platform based in Bangalore. There had been speculations over the last few weeks on who would be the official sponsor for the IPL 2020 ever since VIVO departed this year.

The sources within the BCCI had earlier said that the board is in close talks with Cred as one of the official sponsors of the cash-rich league. Last week, BCCI had also announced Unacademy as one of the official partners of the league.

BCCI took to Twitter to announce the tie-up with the Bangalore based company spanning for the next three seasons with a caption: “BCCI announces CRED as Official Partner for IPL #Dream11IPL”

IPL chairman Brijesh Patel spoke about the deal as he said: “We are very pleased to have CRED on board as the ‘Official Partner’ of the Indian Premier League 2020 to 2022. IPL is one of the most innovative sporting leagues of the world and we are delighted to have a brand as unique and innovative as CRED partner us. I am sure more people across the country will take notice of them as we embark on this exciting journey.

Unacademy and Tata Motors are the other official partners alongside Cred who will combinedly shell out Rs. 120 crore for the IPL 2020.
