The 45th match of the BBL 2021-22 will have Melbourne Renegades take on Sydney Sixers at Simonds Stadium on Tuesday. Sydney Sixers began their campaign on a positive note but are suddenly losing their plot. They lost both their last two matches and thus find themselves at number three position with 6 wins in 10 matches.
Perth Scorchers beat them by 5 wickets in the last game. The batsmen were guilty of not converting the starts into big scores. And as a result of that, Sydney Sixers were bundled out for just 151 runs. Josh Phillippe scored 32 off 22, while Christian scored an unbeaten 35 run knock off 20 balls.
Perth Scorchers, in reply, chased down the score in 19 overs. Dwarshuis sent both the openers early, while Shadab Khan accounted for the wicket of Laurie Evan to leave Scorchers in trouble at 44 for 3. However, a sensational knock from Ashton Turner (69 off 41), thereafter, took the game away from Sydney Sixers. Turner played a match-winning knock and helped his team reach home with one over left. Ahead of the next match against Melbourne Renegades, Perth Scorchers would look to get back to winning ways.
Melbourne Renegades won two consecutive games before losing their last game against Sydney Thunder. They would be disappointed with how they performed against Sydney Thunder. The likes of Alex Hales and Daniel Sams ripped apart the Melbourne Renegades bowling unit as Sydney Thunder posted a mammoth 209-run total in the first innings.
Melbourne Renegades, in reply, were bundled out for just 80 runs, thereby losing the game by a massive margin of 129 runs. The Renegades would look to forget the memories of the defeat in the last game and make a great comeback.
