Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will square up against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the second game of the IPL 2021 on Saturday. Both teams had contrasting fortunes last year. For the first time in IPL history, Dhoni and Co. couldn’t make it into the playoffs. On the other hand, DC took everyone by surprise after reaching the finals of the IPL 2020. They, unfortunately, lost to Mumbai Indians in the summit clash.

Both sides would be eying nothing less than an IPL title this year. Out of the two teams, CSK has made a lot of chopping and changing in the squad. Some new names such as Moeen Ali, Krishnappa Gowtham, Robin Uthappa etc have come into the squad.

Suresh Raina’s comeback in the squad would give them a lot of confidence. Despite all that, not a lot of cricket pundits have included CSK in the top four. It would be interesting to see if MS Dhoni proves them wrong and add another feather to his illustrious cap.

CSK’s depth in the batting line-up is one of their biggest strengths. A lot depends on how Suresh Raina plays at number three. If he makes a strong start and gives at least a few match-winning performances, then CSK does have a real chance of qualifying this year.

DC would be taking the field with a new captain this year. Rishabh Pant would be captaining an IPL team for the first time in his IPL career. Shreyas Iyer, who has suffered from a shoulder injury, won’t be part of this year’s IPL. His absence is likely to hurt them. Though, the other batsmen are in great form, of late. It remains to be seen how Delhi’s batting fares this year, with the likes of Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant in prime form.

Also, the South African players involved in the game, such as Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, and Lungi Ngidi won’t be part of this game due to quarantine rules set by BCCI.
