New Zealand all-rounder Colin Munro is all set to join Perth Scorchers for the upcoming season of the Big Bash League. The club announced signing him for this season due to his impeccable all-round skills on the field.

He has previously played three matches for the Sydney Sixers in the KFC Big Bash League and is known for fostering the all-round depth of the side.

Munro has pocketed a decent experience of playing in various T20 professional league globally and also has a strike-rate of 156.44, fourth-highest in the world.

He plays for Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League, leaving a tour impression of his form in this year’s CPL. The kiwi superstar has played over 200 T20 matches in his career and also known to strengthen the top-order of his team.

“To jump on board with such a successful, established club that has been playing great cricket since the BBL started was really what appealed to me…it’s going to be pretty special to be part of it,” Munro said.

“The Scorchers have some world-class players in their list so to rub shoulders with them this summer is going to be really exciting,” he added.

The left-handed batsman also holds the record for three centuries in T20I cricket, the most by any player in the international cricket.

“Colin’s naturally aggressive instinct with the bat and ability to take the game away from the opposition quickly will make him an extremely important impact player for us this summer. We look forward to welcoming Colin to the Scorchers” Scorchers coach Adam Voges said.
