CPL 2022 Schedule: The men’s version of the 2022 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) will kick off with St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs. Jamaica Tallawahs, on August 31. The match will start immediately after the Trinbago Knight Riders vs. Barbados Royals women’s tournament opener.
The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) established the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), an annual T20 cricket league, in the Caribbean in 2013. Six teams compete in the CPL T20 tournament, split into a group and a knockout stage. The CPL 2022 is a domestic tournament and therefore is not part of ICC’s Future Tour Programs (FTP).
The tournament will be conducted in the style of a travelling caravan, starting with games in St. Kitts, then on to Saint Lucia, Trinidad, and concluding in Guyana, which will host the Playoffs and the final on September 30.
CPL 2022 Schedule:
Trinbago Knight Riders, Barbados Royals, and Guyana Amazon Warriors are the three teams competing in the women’s CPL. Each team will play the other once before the final on September 4. With seven games in THE 6IXTY’s first season, which will come before the CPL, there will be 11 games for women.
Women’s CPL to happen concurrently
In a month-long period from August 30 to September 30, the Women’s CPL T20 2022 will happen concurrently with the Men’s CPL 2022. Three Caribbean nations will host the event this year, and the finals will take place in Guyana.
“It is very exciting to be able to confirm the fixtures for this season with this announcement being all the more special with the WCPL taking place for the first time in 2022,” CPL CEO Pete Russell said.
“We can’t wait to be back travelling around the Caribbean and we are looking forward to welcoming our wonderful fans back into the stadiums across the region,” he added.
