DC vs RR Live Score: Mitchell Marsh and David Warner guided Delhi to an 8-wicket over Rajasthan Royals after chasing down a 161-run target in just 18.1 overs on Thursday. In pursuit of the 161-run target, Delhi lost S Bharat on the second ball of the second innings. Warner and Marsh too were struggling early on. At the end of the powerplay, Delhi could only manage to score 38 runs but both Marsh and Warner were still at the crease.
The duo then changed gears and went on to put on a match-winning partnership of 144 runs for the 2nd wicket, helping the team register their sixth win of the season. Marsh played a match-winning knock of 89 runs in 62 balls. He got out in the 19th over but the match was done and dusted by then. Warner remained unbeaten on 52 off 41 balls, while Pant played 4 balls and smashed 13 runs.
Earlier, Rajasthan Royals scored a good score of 160 runs on a tricky pitch at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy. Chetan Sakariya troubled Jos Buttler with his accurate lengths early on and denied the Englishman to get going from the onset.
The Rajasthan pacer, eventually, had him on the last ball of the third over. Buttler scored only 7 runs in 11 balls. Yashasvi Jaiswal couldn’t replicate the innings he played in the last game. He scored 19 off 19 before departing in the 9th over.
Rajasthan, once again, sent Ravichandran Ashwin at number three. He ended up scoring his maiden half-century and put in an important 53-run partnership for the third wicket with Padikkal. Ashwin got out in the 15th over off Marsh and wickets kept falling at regular intervals, thereafter.
However, a 30-ball 48 from Devdutt Padikkal meant Rajasthan reached a good score on the board. As for Delhi, Chetan Sakariya was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed 2 wickets for just 23 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Besides, Nortje (2 for 39) and Mitchell Marsh (2 for 25) also picked two wickets each.
