DC vs SRH 2022: Rishabh Pant, the captain of the Delhi Capitals, praised David Warner and said it was one of the best innings he has seen for the team in a long time. In the 50th match of the IPL 2022, played at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, Delhi Capitals opener David Warner struck an unbeaten 92* off 58 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
During his innings, Warner hit 12 fours and three sixes. Delhi Capitals scored 207 runs for three wickets in 20 overs thanks to his innings. Warner and Rovman Powell (67 *) shared an undefeated century partnership of 122 runs. Rovman Powell, who hit an undefeated 67 from 35 balls, was also commended.
The skipper himself played an amazing cameo in the middle overs scoring 26 off just 16 balls. In which he scored a hattrick of sixes against leg spinner Shreyas Gopal. After that, he got out on the fifth ball of the over and it was the first time in IPL 2022 that Rishabh got out to a spinner.
“It’s one of the best innings I’ve seen for Delhi in a long time because of the manner he timed his innings. I don’t mind having a couple of discussions now and again. He wasn’t getting any runs at first, but we stuck with him and now he’s coming out on top”, Rishabh Pant remarked during the post-match presentation.
Despite winning by 21 runs, the Delhi Capitals’ captain believes that they still need to improve in several areas and that they are aiming to give 100% in each encounter.
Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 186 runs in 20 overs with the cost of eight wickets, chasing a massive goal of 208 runs. Khaleel Ahmed grabbed three wickets for Delhi, while Shardul Thakur took two. Delhi has won five of their previous ten games. The Sunrisers Hyderabad team, on the other hand, has dropped to the sixth position.
