CSK vs LSG: Despite conceding a mammoth score of the 210-run total, Lucknow Super Giants managed to chase it down with three balls left in the match. Chasing such a big total, LSG needed a good start and the KL Rahul-Quinton de Kock duo provided just that. The duo stitched a brilliant 99-run partnership for the opening wicket before KL Rahul got out after scoring 40 runs in 26 balls. Manish Pandey followed him soon but it didn’t hamper the scoring rate.
Quinton de Kock and Evin Lewis shared a good partnership and kept the required rate in control. Quinton de Kock got out after scoring 61 runs in 45 balls in the 15th over but Evin Lewis stayed there till the very end.
He played an outstanding knock of 55 runs in 23 balls, a knock which was laced with 6 fours and 3 sixes. Young talent Ayush Badoni once again impressed with the bat as he provided a valuable knock of 19 runs in 9 balls. For Chennai Super Kings, both Dwayne Bravo (1 for 35) and Dwaine Pretorius (2 for 31) bowled well but the other bowlers looked ineffective.
Earlier, Chennai Super Kings managed to score 210 runs in the first innings. Uthappa provided the team with a brilliant start as he smashed 50 runs in 27 balls. Later, Moeen Ali (35 off 22), Shivam Dube (49 off 30), Rayudu (27 off 20), and MS Dhoni (16 off 6) made valuable contributions to take them to a big score on the board. As for Lucknow, Ravi Bishnoi was the pick of the bowlers. He was the standout bowler in the match, picking 2 wickets for just 20 runs in 4 overs.
With the bat, Lucknow Super Giants have opened their account, while Chennai Super Kings are yet to win a match in the tournament.
