CSK vs GT: The 29th match of the IPL 2022 will have Gujarat Titans take on Chennai Super Kings at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium on Sunday. are coming into this game on the back of a 37-run victory over Rajasthan Royals.
Gujarat Titans batted first in that encounter but didn’t make a great start. The likes of Shubman Gill and Mathew Wade both got out cheaply. However, skipper Hardik Pandya held his nerves and timed his innings brilliantly. He started off cautiously before switching gears. Hardik Pandya went on to score 87 runs in just 52 balls, a knock which was laced with 8 fours and 4 sixes. He received valuable support from Abhinav Manohar, who also played an outstanding knock of 43 runs in 28 balls.
Miller, later, played an unbeaten cameo of 31 runs in 14 balls. Thanks to all those contributions, Gujarat ended up posting a mammoth score of 192 runs in the first innings. In reply, Jos Buttler kept the hopes high by scoring boundaries at regular intervals. However, Gujarat kept picking wickets at the other end.
Lockie Ferguson, once again, starred with the ball as he picked three wickets for just 23 runs in 4 overs. Yash Dayal also managed to pick 3 wickets for 40 runs in his four overs. Rajasthan, as a result, were restricted to 155 runs. Heading into the next game Hardik Pandya would be keen to earn their fifth win of the season.
Facing them are Chennai Super Kings, who won their first game of the season against RCB on Tuesday. The Yellow Army would be happy to open the account and would be looking to continue the winning momentum.
Riding on sensational knocks from Shivam Dube and Robin Uthappa, Chennai posted a mammoth score of 216 runs against RCB. In the second innings, Maheesh Theekshana spun a web around the opposition batters and didn’t allow them to stitch big partnerships. He ended up picking 4 wickets for 33 runs in 4 overs. And, RCB, thus, were restricted to 193 runs in the second innings. Chennai Super Kings won the game by 23 runs. All these three CSK players will be the ones to watch out for Sunday.
