KKR vs RCB: The 6th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 will have Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Wednesday at DY Patil Sports Academy. RCB didn’t make an ideal start to their campaign. RCB lost their first game against Punjab Kings by 5 wickets.
Riding on a sensational knock from Faf du Plessis, RCB managed to post a mammoth score of 205 runs on the board in the first innings. Faf du Plessis led the way with the bat as he smashed 88 runs in 57 balls. Virat Kohli also played a handy knock of 41 runs in 29 balls, while Dinesh Karthik produced a brilliant 14-ball 32-run cameo in the end.
However, despite posting such a huge score, RCB went on to lose the game by 5 wickets. Punjab chased down the score with one over to spare. All the RCB bowlers who bowled at least two overs went for more than 9 runs an over. Mohammed Siraj conceded 59 runs in 4 overs, while Wanindu Hasaranga gave away 40 runs in his four-over spell. Heading into their next game, they would be looking to exhibit a better bowling display.
On the other hand, KKR began their campaign with a morale-boosting 6-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings. A brilliant bowling display from KKR helped them restrict CSK to 131 runs in the first innings. Umesh Yadav set the tone for the win with a sensational spell of 2 for 20 runs in 4 overs. Varun Chakravarthy (1 for 23) also returned with brilliant figures.
KKR chased down the score in 18.3 overs. Ajinkya Rahane gave the team a brilliant start with a 34-ball 44-run knock. Shreyas Iyer remained unbeaten on 20, while Sam Billings made a crucial contribution of 25 runs in 22 balls to help the team reach home comfortably in the end. KKR has made a positive start and they would be looking to continue the winning momentum.
