MI vs LSG IPL 2022: The 26th match of the Indian Premier League 2022 is scheduled to be played between Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday.
Mumbai Indians:
Mumbai Indians have had a disastrous start to their campaign so far. They have played five matches and have lost all five of them. Mumbai has a must-win game on Saturday and they would be eager to earn their first points in the tournament.
MI came close to winning their last game, however their bowling unit, once again, failed to hit the straps and, as a result, Punjab had scored 198 runs in the first innings. However, Mumbai batted brilliantly in the second innings. The likes of Dewald Brevis (49 off 25) and Tilak Varma (36 off 20) made important contributions with the bat.
Suryakumar Yadav also kept the hopes alive as he scored 43 runs in 30 balls. However, MI still fell 12 runs short of the target. Heading into the next game, it will be interesting to see what changes they make in their playing XI.
Lucknow Super Giants:
Facing them are Lucknow Super Giants, who too lost their last match against Rajasthan by 3 wickets. Rajasthan batting first had scored 175 runs in the first innings. Jason Holder went for 50 runs in 4 overs, but otherwise, Lucknow would be pretty pleased with their bowling performance and you don’t expect them to make a change in that department.
In pursuit of the total, the likes of KL Rahul and K Gowtham got out early, thanks to a sensational bowling display from Trent Boult. However, Deepak Hooda (25), Krunal Pandya (22) kept their hopes alive with crucial contributions.
Later, Marcus Stoinis played an unbeaten knock of 38 runs in 17 balls but Lucknow still fell 3 runs short of the target. They would be keen to return to winning ways on Saturday.
