Multan Sultans take on Lahore Qalandars in the final match of the Pakistan Super League 2022 on Sunday, February 27, at the Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore. Multan Sultans have been outstanding in the tournament. They are coming into this game on the back of a 28-run win over Lahore Qalandars in the qualifier match to make it to the PSL 2022 Final.
Riding on impressive knocks from M Rizwan (53 off 51), Aemer Azmat (33 off 22), and R Rossouw (65), Multan Sultans managed to score 163 runs in the first innings. In response to that, Lahore Qalandars were restricted to just 135 runs in the second innings.
S Dahani, once again, starred with the ball, claiming 3 for 19 in 4 overs. Besides, the likes of David Willey (2 for 23) and Asif Afridi (1 for 23) also returned with impressive bowling figures. Facing them are Lahore Qalandars, who pulled off a win against Islamabad United in the last over thriller.
Lahore Qalandars batted first and managed to score 168 runs in the first innings. Shafique scored 52 off 28 balls, while the likes of Kamran Ghulam (30 off 26), Hafeez (28), and Wiese (28 off 8) also made valuable contributions.
In response to that, Islamabad United was restricted to 162 runs in the second innings. All the batsmen were guilty of not converting the starts into big scores. Lahore ensured they kept taking wickets at regular intervals and deny Islamabad United of picking wickets. Their three seamers, Zaman Khan (2 for 32), Shaheen Afridi (2 for 32), and Haris Rauf (2 for 31) also produced outstanding figures with the ball. It will be interesting to see who wins the trophy on Sunday.
