AUS vs PAK, 1st Test, Day 4: The batting, once again, had the upper hand on Day 4 of the first Test. Steven Smith and Marnus Labuschagne started positively and played some heart-warming shots in the second session of the day. As the partnership was going to touch the 100-run mark, Pakistan took another new ball and got rid of Marnus Labuschagne.
He, unfortunately, fell just 10 runs short of the 100. Travis Head (8) also followed him soon as Australia lost four wickets for 326 runs. Pakistan was hopeful of coming back into the game. However, Steven Smith then joined hands with Cameron Green and the duo added 81 runs for the fifth wicket.
The duo took little rise and also ensured they smack all the bad balls to the boundaries ropes. Cameron Green, however, got out just 2 runs short of a well-deserved half-century. He scored 48 off 109 balls. Steve Smith too might be out on his century.
Nauman Ali got rid of him in the 125th over and with that, he took his four-wicket of the match. Naseem Shah then accounted for the wicket of Alex Carey (19 off 43) to pick the seventh wicket for the score of 444 runs. Australia is currently 7 wickets down with 449 runs on the scoreboard.
Nauman Ali was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed 4 wickets for 117 runs. Besides, the likes of Sajid Khan, Naseem Shah, and Shaheen Afridi all picked 1 wicket each. At stumps on Day 4, Australia still trailsNDT by 27 runs. With just 1 day left in the day, the match is all likely to end up in a draw.
