IND vs SL: India’s left-arm spinner, Axar Patel has been added to the Test squad ahead of the second Test match against Sri Lanka. Patel will be making his comeback after India’s series against New Zealand. He missed out on the tour to South Africa and also didn’t participate in the white-ball series against West Indies and Sri Lanka due to injury.
As per a report by Cricbuzz, the left-arm spinner has recovered fully and thus, has been added to the Test squad. Patel’s addition to the squad meant that Kuldeep Yadav has been released from the squad as the team no longer needs his services for the ongoing Test series.
In the first Test, India played with three spinners, namely Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jayant Yadav. Ashwin and Jadeja made great returns as the duo picked 15 wickets combined in the match. Heading into the second Test, Axar Patel would look to make his comeback in the Test team.
However, given the fact that the second Test will be played with the pink ball, India might not need his services. Team India is set to leave for Bangalore on Wednesday to play the second Test match. The second and final game will be played from 12th March to 16th March 2022.
IND vs SL 2nd Test:

The trio assisted the national team in Mohali over the course of the first Test and is expected to return to the NCA in Bangalore.
India is currently leading the two-match Test series by a margin of 1-0. They would look to register a 2-0 clean sweep ahead of the second Test match in Bangalore.
