ENG vs SA 3rd T20I: South Africa won the three-match series against England on Sunday after beating England by 90 runs in the 3rd T20I. South Africa batted first and managed to post a huge score of 191 runs on the board. David Willey gave England the first wicket in the form of Quinton de Kock for nought.
However, R Hendricks and Rossouw then added 55 runs for the second wicket and took the scoreboard ahead. The latter got out after scoring a handy 31 runs in 18 balls, including 6 fours. However, R Hendricks played a sensational knock of 70 runs in 50 deliveries, a knock which was laced with 9 fours.
David Miller later played an unbeaten knock of 22 runs in 9 balls to help the team reach a pretty good score on the board. As for England, David Willey starred with the ball, picking 3 for 25 runs in 4 overs. Chris Jordan, once again, proved expensive with the ball, conceding 52 runs in 4 overs for just a solitary wicket.
In pursuit of the target, England was bundled out for just 101 runs on the board. Jason Roy and Jos Buttler couldn’t get the team off to a great start. Buttler got out after scoring 14 runs in 10 balls, while Roy made 17 runs in 18 deliveries. David Malan (7 off 11) too struggled to time the ball in the middle, while Jonny Bairstow played an uncharacteristic knock of 27 runs in 30 deliveries.
Half of England’s side were back to the hut for just 65 runs on the board. Wickets fell in quick succession thereafter and England was bundled out eventually for 101 runs on the board. Tabraiz Shamsi was the wrecker in chief for South Africa, picking 5 wickets for 24 runs in 4 overs.
