England wrapped the T20I series against South Africa after yet another clinical performance in the second T20I on Sunday. Skipper Eoin Morgan was all smiles after his side put a commanding show leading to a 4-wicket victory at Boland Park.
England’s limited-overs team has been relentless ever since they resumed playing international cricket post COVID-19 pandemic in July.
From winning the home fixtures to wrapping up the T20I series in South Africa, England has plunged into the ICC points table.
During the second T20I match, the likes of Adil Rashid and Jofra Archer overwhelmed the South African batsmen, restricting them to 146/6 in 20 overs.
Morgan praised the bowlers for their efforts by acknowledging their contribution during the post-match conference.
“Have to applaud the bowling unit. Wickets were shared around by different names as opposed to the other night” Morgan said.
The winning skipper also lauded Adil Rashid for his match-winning spell as he finished with 2/23 in his spell of four overs. Rashid also bowled an economical spell during the first T20I which England won by five wickets at Cape Town.
“Rashid was outstanding at Newlands and almost went unnoticed as he always does. He’s a big part of our team” he added.
Both England and South Africa will now head back to Cape Town for the third T20I match on December 1.
