IND vs IRE 2nd T20I: India and Ireland will lock horns with each other in the second T20I of the two-match series on Tuesday at The Village cricket ground in Berlin. India, led by Hardik Pandya, is currently leading 1-0 in the series with one left to be played. The Men in Blue would be keen to win the second game as well and, thereby, seal the series.
India put on a pretty good performance in the first game. Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave the team a superb start with the ball. He swung the ball both ways and made it hard for the opposition to have a quickfire start. Ireland had lost 3 wickets for just 22 runs in 3.5 overs.
However, things changed thereafter as Harry Tector played an absolute blinder. He played a sensational knock of 64 runs in 33 balls, including 6 fours and 3 sixes, and took the team to 108 runs in 12 overs. The other batters, however, couldn’t make a significant contribution with the bat.
As for the Indian bowling attack, it was a collective bowling effort. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the pick of them, claiming 1 for 16 in 4 overs. He will be the one to watch out for on Tuesday. In pursuit of the game, Ishan Kishan, once again, made a rollicking start with the bat.
He made 26 runs in 11 balls before getting giving away his wicket to Craig Young. He, however, ensured a good start in the first six overs. Suryakumar Yadav got out on the very next ball and India had lost 2 wickets for just 30 runs on the board.
IND vs IRE 1st T20I: Hooda-Pandya stitch match-winning partnership
Deepak Hooda and Hardik Pandya then stitched a match-winning 64-run partnership to turn the game completely in favor of India. Pandya got out after scoring 24 runs in 12 balls but Deepak Hooda stayed right till the end. He played an unbeaten knock of 47 runs in 29 balls, helping India chase down the score in 9.2 overs.
Ruturaj Gaikwad had suffered a niggle in the last game and he could be replaced with Sanju Samson on Tuesday.
