India vs England: England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced their schedule for the next summer, starting with a three-match Test series against New Zealand. The schedule also includes three ODIs and as many T20 internationals against India.
England will be playing a three-match Test series against New Zealand in the month of June next year. Following the conclusion of the Test series, England will play three T20 internationals against India, starting 1st July 2022. The first match will be played in Manchester, while the next two games will be played in Edgbaston and Southampton. The T20I series will be followed by a three-match ODI series that concludes at Lord’s on July 14.
“It has been a scintillating summer of cricket and so good to see crowds back packing out venues later this summer,” ECB Chief Executive Officer, Tom Harrison, said.
“For next summer, I am pleased to be able to confirm three high-quality men’s international touring teams for 2022, starting with a three-Test LV= Insurance Series against World Test Champions New Zealand.
“We also look forward to India returning for two white-ball series before we host South Africa for what promises to be hard-fought series across three formats”.
India and England are currently involved in a five-match Test series. India recently won the fourth Test by 157 runs to take 2-1 lead in the series. The first match ended in a draw, while India won the second Test by 151 runs. England made a comeback in the next game, winning it by an innings and 76 runs. The fifth T20 international is set to be played from 10th September to 14th September 2021 at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester.
