The fourth match of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 sees India take on Pakistan at the Bay Oval ground on Sunday. Both teams will be playing their first match of the tournament and would be looking to start on a winning note. For those of you who don’t know, India women’s team haven’t lost a single ODI against Pakistan in the history of women’s ODI cricket. The two teams have locked horns with each other 10 times in ODIs and India have won all of them.
In the last edition of the ICC Women’s World Cup in 2017, the India team managed to reach the finals of the tournament. Unfortunately, they lost to England in the summit clash by 9 runs. Ahead of a new edition of the ICC World Cup, the Indian team would be looking to win their first-ever World Cup title.
They have started positively so far. In their first two warm-up matches, India has managed to beat South Africa and West Indies. They would be looking to continue the winning momentum.
Pakistan, on the other hand, is yet to win an ODI match against India. In the last edition of the ICC Women’s World Cup in 2017, Pakistan finished at the bottom of the points table. They played seven matches and lost all of them. However, pundits have predicted that Pakistan has a great line-up this time around and can cause some upsets as well.
They have begun their campaign on a good note. Pakistan beat New Zealand by 4 wickets in their first warm-up game before beating Bangladesh by 7 runs in the last warm-up encounter.
