India vs Sri Lanka: The Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday announced that India will tour Sri Lanka in July. BCCI president Sourav Ganguly confirmed the news of India playing the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka. The series will comprise of three ODIs and five T20Is which will take place in July.
MadoverCricket acknowledges that the first-tier Indian team will be in England during that time for the WTC finals. The side is also scheduled to play a five-match Test series against England in August after the WTC finals. Therefore, the BCCI is planning on sending a second string Indian team to Sri Lanka.
On the other hand, Sri Lanka will also play three ODIs and as many T20I matches against England in June. The side will return back after the conclusion of the white-ball series on July 4.
While responding to one of the questions on IPL 2021, Sourav Ganguly revealed the development of India vs Sri Lanka series.
“India is supposed to go to Sri Lanka for three ODIs and five T20Is. There are lots of organizational hazards like 14-day quarantine. It can’t happen in India. This quarantine is tough to handle. Too early to say how we can find a slot to complete the IPL.” Ganguly stated.
The former Indian skipper also spoke on the life under the bio-bubble and how difficult it becomes for the players to do so.
“Bubble life is harsh; it’s the toughest thing. Since last September, a majority of players around the world have been living inside a bubble. There is no option. We can’t play cricket without the bubble.” he said.
