Former Indian skipper Mohammed Azharuddin on Monday praised the former Indian women’s cricket head coach WV Raman. Azharuddin, president of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) also stated that the board will do its best to appoint the ex-Indian women coach.
Last week, BCCI’s Cricket Advisory Committee appointed Ramesh Pawar as the head coach of the Women’s cricket team. he also replaced WV Raman who has a decent record as the head coach of the Indian team. The Indian women team reached the finals of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Unfortunately, the side lost to the dominating Australian team.
“WV Raman’s knowledge of the game and coaching skills can be very useful for many. There are very few sharper brains than him and he has many years of experience. Hyderabad cricket association will do its best to engage him and draw immense benefit,” Azharuddin tweeted.
Post Raman’s ouster, a lot of questions have been raised on the Cricket Advisory Committee for their selection of Pawar for the position.
