Pakistan U-19 coach vouches on Bangladesh tour for the players’ growth

Pakistan’s Under-19 team is slated to tour Bangladesh in mid-April and for that, the side has already begun its preparation back in Pakistan. The squad under the guidance of head coach Ijaz Ahmed, along with bowling coach Roa Iftikhar and spin consultant Mushtaq Ahmed have been toiling hard at the Gaddafi Stadium.

The team began its training session on Friday and participated in fielding drills and net-practice sessions which is a part of a 10-day camp before they head to Dhaka.

After completing the 10-day camp on April 11, the 17-member squad will then depart for Bangladesh on the next day i.e., on April 12.

“Today was the first day of the camp, the players have assembled with us after a couple of months so today we took updates on their fitness and assessed their form,” said Pakistan U-19 head coach Ijaz Ahmed in Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) release.

“I am really excited with the talent in this group, the tour of Bangladesh is an excellent opportunity for us in our endeavour of grooming these players not only for next year’s ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup but also well beyond that as these are the players that are going to serve Pakistan cricket for the next decade and beyond,” he added.

After arriving in Dhaka the visitors will travel to Sylhet to undergo mandatory quarantine until April 15. After that, they will kickstart their tour with a four-day match from April 19-22.
