The turbulence in the Cricket South Africa finally found some balance after the members agreed to appoint the interim board. Last week, England’s tour of South Africa was left on a cliff-hanger after the members failed tp recognize the interim board..

The sports ministry led by Nathi Mthethwa had appointed Zak Yacoob which the members had rejected on the first place. Mthethwa later wrote to the members that he would resort to National Sports and Recreation Act to interfere. Using that would enable him to withdraw funds from the CSA.

As per his message, he took control of the board under the South African law. Consequences of which would lead to the ICC interfering in the matter and suspend South Africa’s national team from participating in all the ICC matches.

As a result, the existing members have now now abided by instruction and accept the new interim board in the coming days.

England is slated to play three match ODI series, followed by as many T20I match series in South Africa starting November 27.

The series will also mark the return of international cricket in South Africa.
