CSK skipper MS Dhoni becomes the most capped player in IPL history

Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni reached a new milestone on Friday for playing most number of matches in IPL.

MS Dhoni surpassed his teammate by playing his 194th match of the season and also the most number of matches for any player. Suresh Raina previously held the record with 193 matches under his belt but MS Dhoni broke his record against SRH today.

Chennai Super Kings is playing its fourth match of the season and only won a single game so far. The only win came against the defending champions Mumbai Indians in the tournament opener.

Suresh Raina congratulated Dhoni for breaking his record as he posted a tweet:

Raina has played 193 games so far, followed by MI skipper Rohit Sharma (192 matches) and Dinesh Karthik (185 matches) at the fourth place.

Ever since the IPL has begun, Dhoni has played for CSK except in 2016 & 2017 seasons for the Rising Pune Supergiants.

He is also one of the most successful skippers in the league by taking his team to the finals on eight occasions while winning three of them.

And talking about his personal accolade, Dhoni is the only player to have played in the IPL finals for nine times, which is the most for any player.
