England batsman Dan Lawrence on Monday left the bio-secure bubble set-up by the ECB because of a family bereavement. The 23-year-old will no longer be a part of the team in the ongoing series against Pakistan, and also supposedly missed his debut in the series.

The uncapped batsman was listed as a reserve for the Test series against Pakistan and since his departure, the ECB hasn’t named any replacement yet. The International Cricket Council (ICC) also confirmed this news on Twitter.

The ECB also released a statement, giving an update on the Essex batsman’s exit from the bio-secure bubble and also notified of not going ahead with any replacement.

“Lawrence, who has yet to make his Test debut, was named as one of the reserves in the #raisethebat Test series against Pakistan. He will not be available for selection when the second Test starts on Thursday at the Ageas Bowl,”

“England will not call-up a replacement for the second Test,”
the statement said.

On Sunday, the ECB also gave an update of Ben Stokes leaving the England due to family reasons. Stokes is expected to fly to New Zealand later this week.

England is currently leading the Test series by 1-0. The second match of the Test series will begin from August 13 at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.
