Cricket Australia (CA) has signed a four-year deal with Dettol as the naming-rights sponsor for Australia’s ODI and T20I series.

Dettol has replaced Gillette, who were the previous title sponsors for all the limited-overs series. In this deal, Dettol also replaces Bupa as naming partner of the support staff and also associate themselves with the women’s team.

The antiseptic brand contacted Cricket Australia after the news about using the disinfectants on the ball when the cricket resumes. The ICC has already banned the use of saliva while permitting the usage of sweat for shining the ball.

As a part of the contract, the antiseptic giant will also provide its products to over 3500 cricket clubs in Australia.

“Dettol is such a well-known and trusted brand with a long heritage, both here in Australia and around the world, and their support will give confidence about protecting the return of community and elite cricket this summer,” the Cricket Australia CEO, Nick Hockley, said.

“Beyond this summer, we look forward to working with Dettol to help embed hygienic behavioural change into schools, clubs and communities through cricket,” he added.

Earlier in September, Cricket Australia had penned a deal with Vodafone as naming partner for the men’s tTest team.
