Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar feels that IPL is the most ideal tournament to resume cricket in India. All the sporting activities including cricket events were stalled after the coronavirus pandemic struck globally.

The IPL 2020 in the UAE finally marks the return of Indian cricketers after the pandemic since March. The tournament will begin from September 19 and the matches will take place across Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah.

David Warner will return as the skipper Sunrisers Hyderabad this season. Last season, Kane Williamson led the side in his absence while Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the vice-captain of the side.

“It’s great to be back, personally I have been away from this game for a while, first I was injured and then this coronavirus pandemic put a halt to every sport. I am pretty excited about IPL like I have said I have been away from this game for a while so I cannot wait to get back in action. I don’t think there could be a better tournament than IPL in India to start off with cricket. And I am sure it will bring joy to the people of India,” Bhuvneshwar told the IPL’s official website.

The pacer reacted on the IPL not taking place in India this year due to severity and spike in the number of cases in the country.

“Definitely, I am going to miss playing in India especially in front of our home crowd, they have been supporting us for many years. I feel they are one of the major motivating factors for us,” he added.

The 30-year-old has so far taken 133 wickets in 117 matches he has played in IPL so far. He was a part of the Hyderabad team that won the tournament in 2016.
