Sharjeel Khan, once again, stepped up with the bat as he scored a valuable 60-run knock in 39 balls. Skipper, Babar Azam too made a vital contribution, scoring 41 runs in 33 balls. However, the middle-order yet again failed to hit the straps.
Karachi Kings failed to capitalize on the good start but still managed to post a competitive score of 170 runs on the board. In reply, Lahore Qalandars chased down the score in 19.2 overs.
The likes of M Nabi (1 for 27), U Asif (2 for 30), and I Wasim (1 for 28) bowled well. However, Fakhar Zaman singlehandedly took the game away from them with a masterful knock. Ahead of their next game on Friday, Karachi Kings must look to improve in regards to both batting and bowling.
Facing them are Peshawar Zamli, who too haven’t had a great campaign so far. In 3 matches, they have managed to win only once and thus are sitting at second from the bottom of the points table. Peshawar Zalmi suffered a 29-run defeat at the hands of Lahore Qalandars in their last game.
Batting first, Lahore Qalandars managed to score a mammoth score of 199 runs in the first innings. Peshawar Zalmi’s bowlers were at the receiving end of some sensational ball striking from Lahore’s top-order.
In reply, Peshawar Zalmi could only manage to score 170 runs in the second innings. The likes of Kamran Akmal (41 off 24) and Haider Ali (49 off 34) made vital contributions. However, they found little support from the other batsmen.
