ENG vs PAK 1st Test: Day 2 of the first Test between England and Pakistan also saw runs flowing all around the ground and bowlers not making any impact at all. Ben Stokes continued the charge on Day 2 as he smashed Naseem Shah for a six on the very first ball he faced, setting his intentions clear straight away.

However, Shah, later, foxed him with a slower delivery to end his stay and helped Pakistan take a wicket early on. Harry Brook was in no mood to get out as he continued his onslaught and went on to play one game of a knock. He scored a sensational knock of 153 runs in just 116 balls, including 19 fours and 5 sixes.

The likes of Will Jacks (30 off 29) and Robinson (37 off 51) also chipped in with valuable contributions at the end as England end their innings at 657 runs in the first innings.

For Pakistan, Zahid Mahmood was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed 4 for 235 in 33 overs. Naseem Shah and M Ali picked three and two wickets respectively. England didn’t declare their innings as they would have been thinking of bundling Pakistan out twice.

Pakistan makes a strong opening

But Pakistan openers have given their team a sensational start and now, it looks like this Test could end in a draw. Imam Ul Haq and Abdullah Shafique started their innings brilliantly and ensured they scored runs at a great pace.

Shafique continues his dream run in Test Cricket as he notched another century and is currently unbeaten on 89 runs in 158 balls, including 10 fours and 2 sixes. On the other hand, Imam Ul Haq dominated England’s spinners by smashing them fours while coming down the track on numerous occasions.

He is giving valuable support at the other end with an unbeaten knock of 90 runs in 148 balls, including 13 fours and 1 six.

ENG vs PAK 1st Test Day 2 Brief Scores: Pakistan 181 for 0 (Imam-ul-Haq 90*, Shafique 89*) trail England 657 (Brook 153, Crawley 122, Pope 108, Duckett 107) by 476 runs
