ENG vs PAK 2nd T20I: Given how England batted in the first innings, it looked like they would take a 2-0 lead in the series. However, little did they know what was to follow next. In pursuit of a 199-run target, Babar Azam and M Rizwan put an exhibition of fours and sixes at National Stadium in Karachi on Thursday.
They stayed there right till the end and helped Pakistan register a massive 10-wicket win. Rizwan, started off aggressively as usual while Babar Azam took his time before unleashing.
Rizwan played an unbeaten knock of 88 runs in 51 balls, including 5 fours and 4 sixes. Babar Azam, on the other hand, returned to form by scoring his second hundred in T20 internationals. Prior to the start of the game, Babar Azam was enduring a lean patch of form. However, he overcame that by registering his second hundred in the shortest format.
With that, he also became only the first Pakistan batter to score two centuries in T20 internationals. Earlier, England managed to score 199 runs at the end of the first innings.
Salt and Hales made a pretty good as the duo added 42 runs in the first five overs. In the last over of the powerplay, S Dahani removed Hales (26 off 21) and D Malan (0) in two consecutive deliveries to suddenly leave England at 42 for 2.
Slat and Duckett then added 53 runs for the third wicket before the former out off Haris Rauf in the 12th over of the innings. Duckett played an outstanding knock of 43 runs in 22 balls, including 7 fours. Harry Brook also made a valuable contribution of 33 runs in just 19 balls but it was Moeen Ali, whose unbeaten 55 off 23 helped the team reach a pretty good total in the end.
Besides Harris Rauf, all the other bowlers gave plenty of runs and the bowling attack would be looking to dish out an improved performance in the next game.
