ENG vs PAK T20I: England has taken a 1-0 lead in the seven-match T20I series against Pakistan. The visitors won the first match by 6 wickets on Tuesday at National Stadium in Karachi. The second T20 international will also be played here at National Stadium. Pakistan batted first in the first game and could only score 158 runs on the board.

Babar Azam (31) and M Rizwan (68) made notable contributions with the bat. However, the other batters failed to hit the straps. None of the other batters could make a significant contribution with the bat. Iftikhar Ahmed’s 17-ball 28 somehow helped them reach the 150-run mark

Heading into the next game, Babar Azam and Co. need to improve as far as the batting is concerned. Luke Wood was England’s pick of the bowlers as he claimed 3 wickets for just 24 runs in 4 overs. Adil Rashid also bowled well for his figures of 2 for 27 in 4 overs.

England, in reply, lost Philip Salt (10) early but Alex Hales played a match-winning knock on his international cricket return. He held fort at one end and stitched crucial partnerships with David Malan (20) and Ben Duckett (21). Malan and Duckett couldn’t convert into big scores but Hales went on to hit 53 runs in 40 balls.

Harry Brooks too played a vital hand in the run-chase as his unbeaten 25-ball 42 was instrumental in England’s chase in the second innings. Thanks to his knock, England chased down the score in 19.2 overs. Ahead of the next game, England would be looking to continue the winning momentum.
