ENG vs SA: England defeats South Africa by 4 wickets; take 2-0 lead in the series

England continued with its unbeaten form after handing a four-wicket loss to South Africa during the second T20I match on Sunday. The visitors came into this game after a five-wicket victory in the first T20I and also wrapped the series at Cape Town.

Dawid Malan shone for the side after hitting a match-winning 55 off 40 balls, followed by final runs coming off skipper Eoin Morgan’s bat. Morgan scored an unbeaten 26 off 17 balls and finished the game with just one ball to spare.

Earlier, England had won the toss and opted to bowl first and stepped on the field with an unchanged squad at Boland Park.

South Africa had a good start with Temba Bavuma and Quinton de Kock smacking a couple of boundaries each in the first two overs. Unfortunately, the merry run last for a short time as Jofra Archer struck and removed Bavuma for just 13 runs.

Kock also got out in the next couple of overs, implying South Africa started losing plot of the game and somehow reached a total of 146/6 in 20 overs.

Adil Rashid was the pick among England bowlers after finishing with 2/23 in four overs, followed by a wicket each from Archer, Chris Jordan and Tom Curran.

Among England batsmen, Dawid Malan top-scored with 55 runs, carting 7 boundaries and one six and also became the player of the match.

Both the sides will go loggerhead in the third and final T20I game by heading back to Cape Town on December 1 i.e., Tuesday.
