ENG vs SA: Frontline English paceman Ollie Robinson is back in the national team for the upcoming Test series against South Africa. Robinson has been out of action for England due to a back injury since the West Indies series earlier in the year.

England is hosting South Africa for a three-match Test series that is scheduled to start on 17th August 2022. Robinson has been inducted into the side for the first two Test matches. England lost the recently concluded T-20 series against the Proteas by 1-2.

Ollie Robinson has replaced Jamie Overton in the 14-member squad that played India in the rescheduled Test match last month. Robinson performed marvellously after making a splendid comeback in the ongoing county championship.

Ace wicketkeeper Ben Foakes has been renamed in the squad. Foakes contracted Covid before the series against India and hence ruled out Sam Billings replacing the young lad. Harry Brooks has been retained in the side despite failing to make his debut against New Zealand and India.

England Cricket Board (ECB) Director Mo Bobat addressed the media and mentioned that the England Test team along with new skipper Ben Stokes and head coach Brendon McCullum had a fabulous start to the season. He further added that the management aims to retain the momentum and has named the squad for the first two tests at Old Trafford keeping the current circumstances in mind.

Robinson scalped a sizzling five-wicket haul for Sussex against Gloucestershire in the last county game. He will further test his fitness by playing for England Lions against South Africa at a practice match on August 9.
