England’s cricketer David Willey on Thursday informed that he has tested positive for the coronavirus. The all-rounder took to his official twitter account as he confirmed testing positive for the virus.

Willey is a part of the Yorkshire county club in the ongoing Vitality T20 Blast but now he will self-isolate after the results showed him positive.

The club announced that Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Josh Poysden and Matthew Fisher will also not play the remaining matches. All these players were in a close contact with Willey in the team camp in the ongoing T20 Blast.

Willey thanked the fans and his wife on Twitter for casting support and their wishes for speedy recovery from the deadly virus.

Willey had been picked for the ODI series against Ireland and also finished as one of the leading wicket takers for England. After the series he joined Yorkshire and played only two matches before testing positive for COVID-19.

Yorkshire has made into the final-three of the group stage and needed only three victories for reaching the quarterfinals but they lost one game against Durham by 43 runs.
