The second Test match between England and Pakistan ended on a draw at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton on Monday.

The second test was entirely hurdled by the rain from the day 1 itself. Pakistan chose to bat and managed to score 236 runs in the first innings. Mohammad Rizwan scored 72 runs as he helped in resurrecting the innings for a respectable total. Rain played spoilsport on the third and the fourth day. But somehow, England got the batting in the final hours of the fourth day but quickly lost the opener Rory Burns for a duck.

England resumed Day 5 on 7/1, with Dominic Sibley and Zak Crawley on the crease. Sibley scored 32 runs while Crawley (53 runs) scored a half-century. But Mohammad Abbas removed them in a single over, thereby restricting England to 92/3.

England finished with 107/1 at the stumps as the second Test yielded no result. With the draw, the hosts continue to have the lead by 1-0 in the three-match Test series against Pakistan.

Mohammad Rizwan was adjudged the Man of the Match for his resilient 72 runs that helped Pakistan go past 200 runs. At the end of Day 1, Pakistan were already struggling at 125/6 before Rizwan and Babar Azam started forming a partnership.

The third Test between England and Pakistan will be played at the Rose Bowl in Southampton from August 21.
