GG vs BK: The 9th match of the Legends League Cricket (LLC) 2023 will have Gujarat Giants take on Bhilwara Kings on Tuesday at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. Gujarat Giants are faltering after making a great start to the tournament.
They won their first two matches but it was followed by two losses as well. In their last game, Gujarat Giants suffered a 6-wicket defeat at the hands of India Capitals.
Riding on a stellar 75-run knock of just 59 balls from T Dilshan, Gujarat Giants managed to score 152 runs in the first innings.
While he played a solid inning, the other batters failed to hit the straps. India Capitals, in reply, easily chased down the target in 18.5 overs. For Gujarat, Ajantha Mendis picked 2 for 26 in 4 overs but the other bowlers couldn’t make a significant contribution. Heading into their fifth match, Gujarat would be keen to earn their third win of the season.
On the other hand, Bhilwara Kings have had a forgettable season. They have played four matches and have only managed to win 1 match and thus are languishing at the bottom of the points table.
Bhilwara Kings are coming into this game on the back of a 3-run win over the Manipal Tigers. The latter notched a formidable score of 175 runs in the first innings. For the Kings, Tino Best returned with exceptional figures of 3 for 20 in 4 overs, while Yusuf Pathan picked 2 for 25 in 4 overs.
Bhilwara Kings fought hard with the bat but still fell 3 runs short of the target. Bhilwara Kings had lost four wickets for 82 runs in 11.2 overs. Yusuf Pathan, once again, played a stellar knock of 42 runs in 21 balls, including 2 fours and 4 sixes.
Irfan Pathan, on the other hand, also made a valuable contribution of 23 runs in 14 deliveries. Till the time, Yusuf Pathan was at the crease, it looked like the Kings would win the game pretty easily. However, he got out on the last ball of the 19th over and the team fell 3 runs short.
They might be in the last position but are expected to give a tough fight in the next match.
