The ongoing DP World Asia Cup has helped the South-East and Middle-East country cricketers to gain a massive lead in the latest edition of MRF Tyres ICC T20I Rankings.

Veteran Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has climbed up to his career-best position after a marvellous performance against arch-rivals Pakistan in their inaugural fixture of the championship. Pandya ripped Pakistan’s batting attack with a sizzling bowling figure of 3/25 and combated the bowling attack by smashing 33 of 17 balls to take India through.

Hardik Pandya has once again proved his vital importance in India’s middle-order. Pandya will be a perfect fit for India’s upcoming campaign at the T-20I World Cup in Australia that is scheduled to take place later this year.

On the other side, Afghanistan has established their dominance in Asian cricket after a splendid start to the championship by defeating Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to gain direct qualification to the Super 4.

Afghanistan’s most bankable asset and frontline leg-spinner Rashid Khan has climbed to the third position in the bowler’s rankings. Rashid jumped ahead of Adam Zampa and Adil Rashid with a rating of 708. His next target will be to overpower Tabraiz Shamsi (716) and Josh Hazelwood (792) to gain the first position.

Rashid’s counterpart Mujeeb-ur-Rahman cruised into the top 10 bowler’s rankings of the ICC T20I Rankings with a rating of 660. Indian paceman Bhuvaneshwar Kumar who led India’s bowling attack against Pakistan with a fascinating figure of 4/26 rose to the eighth position.

Mohammed Rizwan retains no. 1 spot

In the batting rankings, Pakistan batsman Mohammed Rizwan gained a narrow lead in his ratings as he joined his skipper Babar Azam in the second position with 796 points. Afghanistan’s heroics at the Asia Cup was led by Hazratullah Zazai and Rahmanullah Gurbaz who climbed to the 14th and 29th position respectively.

Meanwhile, English Test captain Ben Stokes gained massively in all the other three rankings with an exemplary performance against South Africa. No major difference was observed in the ongoing series between Australia and Zimbabwe.
