Brendon McCullum is all praises for Tim Seifert, considering his current form. The former New Zealand cricket team skipper believes that Serfeit’s game has improved at an impeccable pace, and the player has all that it takes to become a long-term player of the game.

Batsman Tim Serfeit has played only three ODIs for his national side and has managed to register a total of 33 runs in the game. He has played 24 T20Is and has impressed with his skills as a T20 player, amassing 457 in the format. The player is yet to showcase his skills in the Test format. Tim serves as the T20 wicket-keeper for the Kiwis.

McCullum even went on to compare Tim’s playing style to that of his own, averring that the latter is ahead of where McCullum was at his age.

“His game is very similar to mine. At the same age, he’s ahead of where I was as a batter at the same time, and from a wicketkeeping point of view, he’s really improved in a short space of time that he was with Trinidad in the CPL and Kolkata in the IPL,” McCullum gushed. “He continues to impress and I think he’s in for a breakout season for the Black Caps.

“Yes, I do [see Seifert as a long-term player]. He’s a special talent,” McCullum added. “To see how quickly someone can improve and develop skills and his attitude and how much he wants in this game is something to behold. If he gets the opportunity and can take it early on, he can put some pressure on the incumbents in other forms of the game as well. But first and foremost, he’s going to get the opportunity in T20s and I think he has had a little bit of success in international cricket and I think his best days are certainly in front of him.”

Serfeit, who idealizes McCullum, has had some considerable time to train under him. He has lately been sharpening his batting and wicket-keeping skills in IPL and CPL.
